Yup. I'm in the minority here, but I hated it. Hated it... except Metroid: Other M. THAT looks fucking amazing. Everything else...
I can say that it was better than last year's... but that really, REALLY isn't saying much.
I liked it.... I didn't see the presentation for nintendo but I did see some games introduced it looks like wii is getting more hardcore games at least.
I enjoyed it.
I definitely didn't hate it. They surprised me by announcing games like Golden Sun DS, but the presentation slowed down towards the middle. Especially when Iwata had his long speech that ultimately led up to the that strange "vitality sensor". It confused everyone because he never explained how it would be implemented in games.
I also had a strange thought about how measuring your heart rate would be used. It was when I was thinking about the mysterious new Zelda game would be like. The horrible thought that crossed my mind was that the heart/vitality sensor would be used for Link's heart health bar.
Eh. I guess I exaggerated that a bit. I'm just mad because Nintendo's shoving all of these games that we've already played before down on us to go out of their way to prove that they're "hardcore". I forgot about Golden Sun. I was mainly referring to the Mario's and the Zelda's, which were their big things. The Wii's going to have a long, or LONGER, lifespan than previous consoles due to online and stuff. They did all of this crap way too soon. I want to see the franchises they HAVEN'T used yet. Where's Star Fox? Kid Icarus? F-Zero? Kirby? Oh, another "new", unoriginal Mario. That makes up for it, right? WRONG. Both of the new Mario's are going to be unoriginal and have absolutely nothing new. If New Super Mario Bros. Wii doesn't have online, there will be next-to-no reason to have it made to begin with. Galaxy 2 I'm iffy about. They should've waited a while to do this stuff. It's been less than two years since the last major Mario and Zelda game, and now they have two new Zelda's and two new Mario's announced. I really don't understand why Nintendo is doing it. Play around with something new. Use a DIFFERENT franchise. Wait for another Mario or Zelda. Give it time and thought. But no. They aren't doing that. It seems to me as if, they showed up at E3 with almost no ideas and through this together simply because it would please the fans and they didn't feel like coming up with a new and original idea. Oh, and the infamous "Wii Fit Plus"... yeah. That's totally original. And you now how much everybody cares about the Vitality Sensor... I mean, they announced Pikmin 3 at last year's E3 and they haven't shown us anything of it yet.
*Sigh* I was just really disappointed with all of this. I'm glad they finished with Metroid, though. That was the best part.
On the bright side, No More Heroes 2 = Awesome.

Miyamoto said there would not be online. :(As much as I would like to see other franchises like Star Fox, Kid Icarus, and F-Zero; Nintendo appears to be playing it safe by releasing sequels to franchises that are more known , probably because they will sell better.
Alright, I overreacted to all of this. I is not mad at Nintendo any more... I shouldn't have been in the first place, though I'm still iffy on the fact of releasing sequels to games that we had and played not too long ago... Metroid: Other M still looks awesome. And Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Which I just now noticed Ryan and Agent Z didn't talk about on the podcast... I think I probably would've enjoyed this E3 more if I had actually watched it. I was unable to... I feel like I missed out.
And that's a true shame. I saw some gameplay of it, there could be amazing opportunities for that. But without online, the game will become boring, especially since you get the most fun out of it playing with 3 friends. And since I hardly ever have that amount of people over... I see no reason in getting it. It seems like it'd be better as a WiiWare game...
I'm
looking forward to New Super Mario Bros. Wii, there hasn't been a 2D home
console Mario game in over a decade. Yeah, it stinks that there won't be online
and that it may seem better suited as a WiiWare title but that isn't going to
happen because it will sell more with a retail release and 80 levels seems a
bit large for a game sold as a WiiWare game.
